Cob Buddy

Spring is strong, and summer is close by. Weekend barbecues and family around the dinner table. A small steak, medium rare, pan fried potatoes, salad, and corn on the cob. Yes. That's a perfect summer meal.

I still frequent the wood lathe in the shop. I dream of creating something with the machine that is not round. I give up. It is going to be round. The thought of fresh corn on the cob got me thinking about handling the hot ear. We have all used the plastic stab in the ends devices. I wondered if I could come up with something on the lathe that would really put the screws to the cobs.

Cob Buddy functions similar to the plastic spear devices, but without the occasional need for a band-aid. We tied Cob Buddy on our first of the season ears and they worked very well. Naturally, I made a few extras.
