Garden Composter

A couple of treated 4x4 posts, some mortise & tenon joints, a 55gal polyproplene barrel, two hinges, a little all-weather wood glue, 6 ball rollers from Harbor Freight, and we have a garden composter. Just in time for the autumn garden clean out. Cost: ~$39 and a few hours in the shop. Two wood fins were attached to the inside to tumble the compost when the barrel is turned. The barrel lies on rollers attached to the 4x4 cradle ( 3/side). This permits easy turning when you are at the helm. A verticle pin skids against the left hand end to prevent the barrel from sliding while it is being turned.
